One of many pieces of advice I have gotten during my 20s is “never look back and move forward”. We all know we can’t change the past, so simply stay in the present and be prepared for the future.
But sometimes, looking back helps us reflect on how far we go, how great we are, and what was left for us. And when we look back, we might see ourselves in the eternities, yes, we can’t change the past, but never abandon who we used to be.
On the road yesterday when I was excited to look forward to the next destinations, I also caught myself emotionally looking at the wonderfully beautiful mountains behind. It seemed like saying goodbye to me. A GOOD bye.
