Vì mình sợ là mình sẽ để thất lạc ở đâu đó nên gửi tạm ở blog mình sẵn tiện phủi bụi hihi.

To whom it may concern:

I am Huong – [Hidden Title] in Hanoi, Vietnam. I am writing this letter in support of Ms Le Huynh Kim Ngan, a.k.a. Ngan Sau, in her application for [hidden content]. I believe her ability to connect individuals and to build communities is a rarity and one of great asset to whichever country she chooses to settle in. Especially because she does that with heart.

The name of Ngan Sau rang no bell for me until mid-2013, when my partner at that time sought Ngan out for advice and connection as she made entry into the start-up community in Vietnam. Back then, Ngan impressed me as a talented, energetic, and passionate young woman. Myself being an educator and having not much to do with the start-up community, I was still greatly inspired witnessing that group of young people sharing passionately about their ideas at the Hackathon Ngan organized in Hanoi. It was the first time I watched a pitching event and was first introduced to the notion of angel investors and such. Despite being an outsider, I could not help feeling at awe, overwhelmed by an atmosphere charged with youthful enthusiasm and a desire to create and innovate. I thought to myself it must feel great to be part of this, even better, to make this, and lead this. Ngan was always on the go. With time, I haven’t seen that level of enthusiasm lessened at all in her; only it has matured as she accumulates more experience in the field. Ngan and my partner stay friends until today, and I know my partner still talks to Ngan whenever she needs someone to bounce her new business ideas back.

I, unfortunately, have parted ways with my partner. Ironically to a certain extent, as our relationship broke, I found Ngan to be a more significant presence in my life. It was a very bad breakup, and I was in a dark place for about two years or so. Ngan checked on me almost every day. Not much of talking though; rather it was to let me know someone cared about me and wanted me to do well. It may sound simple, but I have been through enough in my life to know such consistency takes care, patience, and generosity. While keeping me company, Ngan shared with me about daily happenings in her own life and sincerely asked for advice on certain matters. I believe it comes from her genuine appreciation of perspectives different from her own. Sharing is always mutual with Ngan. It seems being open about ideas and listening to other people’s viewpoints is her second nature. I believe this sincerity in mutual communication has been Ngan’s charm in attracting and keeping people around her. In her daily sharing, I also heard the deep care Ngan has for anyone in her circle, be it the little Cherry, the daughter of her host in the Bay Area, who loves the minion Ngan made for her to bits, or her new friend Sam, who likes to chat over a late-night dinner. People find Ngan easy to relate to, perhaps because she listens without judgment, and she cares with all her heart. Sometimes I think of Ngan as someone who sees this lost, sinking boat, and would go out of her way to point it home. She has that kind of generosity.

Above all, I have seen Ngan constantly trying to make the best out of her situations. She would not stay still and wait for things to happen. She makes herself an active part of any community she lands herself on. Over the past two years, I have witnessed Ngan learn movie script writing, travel around, meet and connect people across borders. She just never stops making improvements, in her own life and in the lives of others.

So, when Ngan says she wants to apply for [hidden content], I don’t see any reason for [hidden content] to turn her down.
